In cases where a sewing machine is contaminated with hazardous materials—such as rodent droppings, insect infestations, mold, nicotine buildup, or other biological or chemical residues—special cleaning is required before service can begin. At Needle & Gear, we follow safety protocols to protect both our technicians and your equipment. This process includes the use of protective gear, safe removal of contaminants, thorough disinfection, and proper waste disposal. Machines must be decontaminated to a safe condition before repairs can proceed.
Note: If not specifically requested, services such as hazardous material cleaning, chemical cleaning, or deep cleaning may still be performed at the technician’s discretion if deemed necessary for safe handling or proper machine function. Any additional charges will be discussed with the customer before proceeding.
